Week commencing 23/09/19

This week I have been mainly focusing on IT support due to Stuart leaving it has been left up to me and Sam to manage the tasks. The tasks started off ok doing a few and documenting them and sorting them out.
However on Tuesday the OPS team next door a few of their phones went down. This was a new request one that needed to be changed on this provider called Voiphone, this was what I have been doing for the most of this week calling the support team for navigation around the site.
I had to group the phones that weren't working so I needed to find out the Ip addresses for those numbers that went down this was so I could access them manually to get into the phone and check what was going in there.

Underneath this is the IP Scanner this scans the range of Ip addresses in your area you have to set the range from where you want to scan it from. 



The loops I had to do aswell for certain colleagues these were found on Voiphone I had to give support a call a few times as I wasn't sure. But figured it out now, and its all back up and working hopefully there shouldn't be anymore problems with the lead up to CloudCall.

Week Commencing 16/09/2019

This week I have been setting up the new Managing director, that has just been employed at Practical Vision. Me and Sam have been in charge of his induction where we have to show him the different things to be aware off such as make sure your password is protected and, to let you know about phishing emails and if you are going to be scammed what sort of things you should look out for.

There was a few things that we needed to set up as well, he wanted for me and Sam to set up the printer as he wasn't connected to the scanner and also, we needed to buy a few things for him that he will need when he is working from home etc.

Other than that I have been installing some SSD's into colleagues PC's not all of the company has theses installed so I have purchased some in for Monday where I will install a few more. this will make the PC's faster as I have had a few complaints on the speed of some colleagues PC's so once this is done no one should have any complaints. I have completed a lot of requests this week on different IT related tasks as well.

Week commencing 09/09/2019

This week was based on cloud call the communicator provider we are trying to get setup for. I started the week gathering all the extension numbers that we use as a company from everyone in the office at that time. this will show what we are working with to be able to gain the right amount of numbers so we can tell Chris the manager in the simplest way what extensions we need and what we don't. Once this is done Chris can then tell us what extensions we can keep and ones we can get rid of. Also I have been completing the audits that Isobel showed me before she left. These audits will be completed every month. They will take less time the more I do them but some took me a while. My colleagues can access them via share point. I have been helping with IT Requests this week helping different colleagues with their issues. I helped Phillip with an error regarding Word how it won't let him access the desktop app.

This was just a case of uninstalling office and then reinstalling, obviously when his PC was set up office 365 didn't set up properly which is totally normal. We did this then reinstalled it and it worked perfectly. I had to setup a few accounts and add a few different things that required an admins password. I had some tasks that were set to me from Gemma which I have started and hopefully complete by the end of next week.

Week commencing 2/9/19

This week I have been in the training academy with Escalla, this is my training provider. This week we are preparing for an exam in MTA, this is an exam provide by Microsoft and you can optionally to it. There was a lot to take in this week what I wanted to gain knowledge on is the cloud services this was an area I wanted to improve on because I didn't know much about it and it is in quite high demand One drive One note pretty much most of the applications on office 365 are cloud based. So I picked up on a lot this week, we have been given a text book on the MTA fundamentals so that we can learn this over our 1 year apprenticeships. I have learned a lot this week now I can implement this into my job.
