Started the week at work (Tuesday), my boss Jen thought it was a good idea to have a meeting which they have every few months, this meeting basically consists of what have you accomplished in your job over the past few months. we would then go around the room individually and speak for about 2 minutes on what we have done and what we are working on. I have only been there for a few weeks so it was nice to listen to what my other colleagues said. I know I the next few weeks once I have finished my Escalla training I will be going through a configuration to gain knowledge with Stuart in that department.
Other than that I have been working on the IT requests being sent through on the main CRM. Sam my manager assigned a few IT tasks to me and if I got stuck I would ask them. Jen also announced that in the meeting we would be stating what we have contributed to the company every week whether its sharing a blog on how to stay safe when transferring money, or talking to a client or someone you know and giving them your contact details.
Then throughout the week I was at the training group Escalla this is to prepare me and teach me what I need to know for the apprenticeship, we started on Thursday going through the things we will be covering over the year apprenticeship, things like the evidence you will need provide, what you will be taking part in at work what will you be fixing all these will need to be taken down to prove you are getting the most out of your apprenticeship. This will be done throughout the year showing what we have learned this then needs to assessed by Amanda she will come round to our individual jobs and see what evidence we have picked up. this will be then sent to a moderated only after the a year and one day as they are the guidelines set. So I am going to aim to complete this as soon as possible.

Week Commencing 19/08/2019
Monday - This week we had a few new employees that have started this week, due to Stuart not being in and Sam, I had to set up the PC's that they will be working on making sure everything is working and they can access everything they need. I needed to set up their Share point account so they were able to log into the main Practical vision page and access their account from their. What I needed to do was to send them an email which will send them to a link that sends them to the main practical vision page. I had to deal with some other problems as well, when they would go and access there personal library on the Practical Vision main shared web page, they couldn't for some reason access their library. What this was,was that there personal library was not set up. To set this up I needed to go into settings and set the library up manually giving them access to everything there job entails.
Then, me and Isobel went through starter security setup, this basically goes through the main security details that are needed to be known by starters. It includes things such as setting up your password correctly giving it a strong name, make sure you look at your emails properly and don't just go clicking on random links that could contain malicious software and could effect the company etc. We also showed them 2 short videos which are on passwords an phishing, giving you an overview of how simple it is to get spammed or conned in this industry.
Wednesday, I went through OnDMARC configurations with Stuart, next week I am going to be sitting with him talking to a client who needs a run through on how to apply an OnDMARC configuration to their chosen email. The plan for this is that I will be sitting with Stuart going through a few configurations until I am comfortable to go through one as well. Once I have got the hang of it I will then take over from Stuart this will take a few go's to get the hang of. But with the tutorial from Stuart and also the research I have done on the side for this I'm hoping that I can get this configuration down to a tee in the first few go's. I'm currently going over the configuration steps to get a better insight for when we talk to the client.
Thursday I started to go through Sophos, Sam did a basic walk through as Stuart is on holiday. I am currently learning and going through more walkthroughs until Stuart comes back. I also had a talk with Tom who is the Business Development Manager for the north. So he handles all the clients that are coming in and wanting to buy the main packages on The Lawyer Checker website, he was going through this with me, how they sell the products and what they will likely talk about at events he is at how they will sell to the customers.
Friday I have been going through the tutorials on Sophos, I am going to be using this to be able to setup VPN network clients and network configurations, so I am starting to familiarize myself with So that in the next few months I can work Sophos easily and understand the configurations. I then did a IT request which was from the OPS team next door where one of them were getting a error 524 which means its a timeout error so I cleared her cache for her and then told her to refresh her tabs that she had open every minute or so.

My First Week
My first day at Practical Vision. I started by being shown around the entire company meeting, Web Developers, the Admin Team, The Lawyer Checker team and the Finance team. I started with meeting my colleagues that I will be working with and getting to know them, there is Stuart who sits next to me on the right and Sam (My boss) who sits on my left. Stuart will be going through what my job will entail in the next few days showing me what I will need to be doing to in order to have a successful apprenticeship and get the best out of my year here.
Things that he will be showing me is the Admin Center, SharePoint and Dynamics 365. But before I can learn any of that, the policies will need reading. These are documents that when coming into a new job you have to read, all things you can do and can't do, so that if something were to happen to you wouldn't sue the company and the company wouldn't sue you. There are unfortunately 36 of these policies and it took me a couple of days to read.
On Wednesday, I sat down with Stuart and he was going through the information I will be learning to complete IT requests and Job roles which is found in the Admin center. He explained Dynamic 365 to me with everything that it entails, for example this is where the IT requests are kept so if anyone has anything they need to be fixed or looked at (me, Stuart or Sam) can access it. He then showed me how to complete a ticket this is when someone has an issue and need something that they wouldn't be able to access generally and which only certain colleagues can access, they will place a request on the IT Request tab. This is then left on the requests page and waiting for someone to fix this problem. It can be set through different priorities from Low to High letting the person know if the problem needs to be fixed right away or can be left for later. Some of these can be complicated or they can be really simple and a quick an easy fix.
Thursday I was starting to look at a few requests on how to fix them one colleague needed certain fonts to install, she had already installed them onto her drive but wasn't allowed the access so I needed to give her my email to let her access the fonts that she installed. This ticket was then done, then I had to fill in the ticket this make sure that the matter was resolved and it was shown that it was completed. I had to fill in the date put how long it took me who it was assigned to and then save it. Over this past week I have had a lot of individual meetings with other colleagues, just giving me a an overview of there job showing me the different jobs that allow me to get more of a insight on what other people do for this company.
Friday I started setting up some computers for some new employees that are starting their new job next week. We had to install some starting up programs after the installation of the actual PC. Then I have started to research some IT requests to for example the one I have been researching is 'Business Card Reader'. This has been requested by a colleague saying that they are going to be travelling to a lot of events around the country a lot of business shows so they need something to read and store the business cards that they pick up and send them to the CRM. The person wants to find a app or tool that does this. I am currently researching this to find a suitable app to install into the CRM.
